History
Aggregate & Concrete Testing Services
Ltd. (AGGCON) was founded in 2002 to provide construction
materials testing services for the construction industry. Our
primary focus is to provide contractors and aggregate producers who
deal with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) with an
independent, accredited materials laboratory as required in a
variety of ODOT contracts.
ODOT Supplemental Specification 898: QC/QA Concrete for Structures
Bridge building contractors who work under
ODOT Supplemental
Specification 898 are required to use the services of a "certified
laboratory" (see 898.02) to test raw materials and produce a
concrete mix design which meets the requirements of S.S. 898. The
certified laboratory\'s mix design is approved by an ODOT engineer
before being incorporated into any work (see 898.07). The certified
laboratory also tests the plastic concrete as it is placed in the
structure as part of the contractor\'s quality control (QC) and
acceptance testing. As a check, ODOT also tests the plastic
concrete, although at a reduced frequency (898.11). Finally, the
certified laboratory tests the hardened concrete for acceptance and
final payment (compressive strength and permeability - 898.15) with
ODOT also performing some companion testing for quality assurance
(898.11).
ODOT Supplemental Specification
1069: Pre-Qualified Aggregate Supplier Program
AGGCON\'s business with aggregate
suppliers consists of conducting regular sieve analysis testing to
comply with
ODOT Supplemental Specification 1069.
This testing may be conducted by the aggregate producer or
contracted out to an accredited laboratory. AGGCON currently has
approximately 12 aggregate producers who have elected to have us do
their quality control testing.
AASHTO R18 Accreditation
AGGCON is accredited by AASHTO (American Association of State
Highway Transportation Officials). You may find more information on
this accreditation process and view the scope of my lab\'s
accreditation by (CLICKING

WVDOT
AGGCON is also certified
by the West Virginia Department of Transportation to perform
concrete testing on their projects.
Commercial Projects
In addition to our core business of testing for
contractors and aggregate producers working with state DOT\'s ,
AGGCON has also performed testing for contractors working on
commercial projects.
Soils Testing
We also offer dynamic cone pentrometer and nuclear density soils testing.
